The wait is finally over, and the The Boys Season 5 premiere has arrived with the kind of soul-crushing violence and dark satire that only this series can deliver. Dropping its first two episodes on April 8, 2026, the final season wasted no time in breaking hearts. The biggest shocker? The permanent exit of A-Train. In a poetic but brutal redemption arc, A-Train saves Hughie from certain death, only to have his neck snapped by a vengeful Homelander. It is a devastating bookend for a character who started the series by carelessly running through a human life and ended it by heroically saving one.

Antony Starr’s Homelander is more unhinged than ever, tightening his fascist grip on America through terrifying “Freedom Camps.” The tension escalates in Episode 2 when he unthaws his father, Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), adding a volatile new layer to the Vought power struggle. Fans are also buzzing about “Rock Hard,” a grotesque, 900-pound lava-spewing Supe who embodies the show’s signature gross-out humor. Meanwhile, new cast member Maitreyi Ramakrishnan makes her debut as Countess Crow, bringing a fresh, corporate-friendly face to the chaotic Teenage Kix team.

Perhaps the most delightful surprise of the The Boys Season 5 premiere is the “upgrade” to Kimiko. After years of selective muteness, Karen Fukuhara’s character is finally speaking—though her lack of a filter leads to some of the show’s most profanely hilarious dialogue yet. As Billy Butcher prepares his lethal Supe virus, the stakes have never been higher. With the series finale set for May 20, 2026, the war between the resistance and the Supes has reached a point of no return. Grab your Vought-burgers and settle in; the end has officially begun.
